Love it! Wasting too much time 'cuz I can't tear myself away.

I had the same necklace dilemma. Searched the internet and ran across an idea that would work, but hated the way it looked. *I* can come up with a prettier version. Here's what I came up with.

Corkboard with frame.**
Fabric to match your decor (I used left over toile quilt fabric, love it and so soothing.)
Trim to match your fabric (got some at discount fabric store)
drawer pulls etc that you like (new or flea market etc.; could even use those brass C shaped hooks)
Batting (again left over)
Glue gun and automatic stapler gun
Awl and drill.

Cover board with batting and fabric, staple at edges. Make sure it is taut.
Use glue gun to cover edges with trim.
Decide where you want your knobs/hooks (space them for longer/shorter necklaces and bracelets.)
Use awl to start holes where you want them through fabric and batting.
Use drill to finish if necessary.
Put on knobs (I had to use washers on the back side to take up space because the screws were too long.
Hang it on the wall and hang necklaces and bracelets.
Revel in your beautiful necklace organizer.

**Could use an old window/door/shutter even a shallow drawer if you are in to shabby chic ... THAT would be so cute.

Robin in NCAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7772523238120795049.post-24827754563020243982012-08-17T15:47:19.126-05:002012-08-17T15:47:19.126-05:00For necklaces I framed a pretty piece of fabric (n...For necklaces I framed a pretty piece of fabric (no glass) and then strung a piece of lace across. It hangs/sits in my closet with all my necklaces dangling off! works perfect! I have a few clients that organize their jewelry this way too.

If you have wall or cabinet space, you can use screw hooks for the necklaces. I love the idea for egg cartons with earring...Amy,

I love the idea for egg cartons with earrings! I will definately have to try that one! As for the necklaces, I've come up with a solution that works great for me.
In our closet, we have some wall space that is open near where I hang my scarves and purses. I took the small command strip hooks (the little bitty clear ones, not the big ones) and arranged them in such a way that I could get about 15 across one section (it helps if you do some higher and some lower, but whatever looks most asthetically pleasing to you!). I hang my long necklaces on thsoe hooks, which makes it super easy to find the ones I'm looking for in the morning when I'm getting ready and also helps to prevent them tangling.
For my smaller necklaces, I found one of those necklace hook dresser decorations that you can get at Target or Bed, Bath and Beyond works well.Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14068145689645318790noreply@blogger.com
