Today we've got a lovely giveaway for you, from an amazing organization! In their own words:
The "Macrame Project" is a fundraiser facilitated by the Eden's Rose Foundation. These funds are raised through the sales of our direct trade macrame bracelets. The bracelets are made by woman in low visibility areas in the Tosagua region of Ecuador. Our foundation met with the communities to assess needs and offer help. After the communities except our support we begin "skills training" workshops. In this project we reintroduced the lost craft of macrame. In areas like this one the craft may have been lost due to the community having no access to a market. After the women are able to produce macrame bracelets we purchase them at a rate that allows them to double their household income. Finally we use the proceeds from the sale of the items to fund children's basic needs centers in the area. This direct trade template allows us to have a higher impact than if we approached the needs with a more traditional approach.
Macrame Project is giving away a $50 credit to their online store!
